Game Update 8.7 Patch Notes - An Inkling of What's Next | "Dye Hard"

This month is all about making your mark. Fast reactions, shifting momentum, and knowing exactly when to flood the battlefield with pressure before your opponent can recover.

Leading the charge are our newest variants, Yellow One Squigly and Inkfluencer Peacock. These fighters bring a ton of splashy style to the stage.

We're also (re)launching our update to Prize Fights. Designed with the help of our community team, the goal is to give you more opportunities to add challenge and in turn, gain more rewards. Read the full write-up on the PF change below. So gear up, stay fresh, and check out the full list of Patch 8.7 updates below!

New Monthly Prize Fight: Hot Mess!

Bring The Heat introduces a brand-new, month-long Prize Fight that is separate and additional from the scheduled Sun of a Beach Prize Fight.

Hot Mess is built for players who need to put their Fire roster to work, with modifiers that reward leaning in the modifiers and will punish anyone not careful to build a strategy around them.

Entry Requirement

Hot Mess requires a Fire Element fighter on both Attack and Defense. The rest of your team is up to you, but pay attention to the modifiers as it makes a strong case for going deeper on Fire. Make sure to keep up with your Sun Block to avoid a Sun Burn :)

Events Updates

We are introducing two new monthly events that will be available all month to complete aimed at aiding players in evolving progress with their newly obtained monthly variants. These events offer significant reward increases from the standard daily event versions and for difficulties beyond Basic, will be at an increased difficulty compared to the regular events.

How they work

  • Two new Events: “Yellow One” & “Inkfluencer”
  • Each event will require that variant in order to participate in the event as the goal of the event is to aid in evolving the character
  • Participation in the event will consume 1 daily ticket per difficulty level the same as daily events
  • This event does not replace any other existing events
  • The event can only be completed once (per difficulty)
  • The event cannot be skipped

Launch Celebration

To celebrate the debut of our new monthly variant events, we're kicking things off with a bonus reward increase on Headliner Relics: The Expert difficulty will reward 5 Headliner Relics and the Master difficulty tier will pay out 10+1 Headliner Relics during this first month on the Yellow One Event.
Thank you for jumping in early and helping us stress-test this new format. As we continue building out and refining these events over time, the standard Expert and Master payouts will settle into their regular cadence. We just wanted the first one to feel special.

We're being transparent about this now so you can plan accordingly. Enjoy the bonus, and as always, we appreciate your support for Skullgirls!

WebHub Introducing Loyalty Points

Your purchases on the Skullgirls webhub just got more rewarding. We've launched our brand new Loyalty Program. We know Skull Points and Loyalty can sound similar, so here's the difference:

How it works

  • Skull Points are your currency. You earn them on purchases and spend them on rewards. Nothing about that changes.
  • Loyalty is a tier system. The more you spend in a given month, the higher your tier climbs, unlocking better perks and benefits the whole month long.
  • Two systems, working together. Skull Points are what you spend. Loyalty is the status you unlock by spending.
  • Heads up: tiers reset every month. Your spend total starts fresh on the first of each month, so every month is a new chance to climb. Skull Points you've earned stay in your wallet.

Thank you to our CoLab-orators!
