Account Security Update

Our goal has always been to provide a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone playing Skullgirls Mobile. To support that goal, we've recently re-enabled an important part of our anti-cheat system that verifies the integrity of the game client whenever it connects to our servers.

As a result, some accounts were recently suspended after being detected using modified or unauthorized versions of the game. This was communicated in a recent social media post as well as our patch notes for update 8.8.

Amnesty for Unauthorized Clients

We recognize that not every player using an unauthorized client did so with malicious intent. Some players may have unknowingly downloaded modified versions of Skullgirls Mobile from unofficial sources. Modified versions of Skullgirls Mobile present both a security risk to you and our network while seemingly operating the same as a genuine, platform version.

Because of this, we will be granting a one-time amnesty to accounts that were suspended solely for connecting with an unauthorized game client.

You may have noticed that your account access may have been restored over the weekend. If your account falls into this category, you will only be able to retain access to your account by updating your client of Skullgirls Mobile with one downloaded from official supported app stores. The deadline for you to update and avoid a future ban is Friday, July 10th.

Steps

1. Take note and write down your current username, player ID, and make sure you have more than one backup method connected (Facebook, email, Google). Ensure your phone is not "jailbroken" or operating system modified from an official version
2. Delete the installed version you have of Skullgirls Mobile.
3. Re-Download from the Official Google Play store (Android), Apple Store (iOS), or Huawei App Gallery. Do not use an emulator of any kind or any 3rd party links
4. Log back in.

Moving Forward

Going forward, any game client that does not match an officially distributed version of Skullgirls Mobile will be automatically detected and suspended.

To avoid interruptions to your account, please make sure you are playing using a version downloaded from one of our supported platforms:

• Google Play
• Apple App Store
• Huawei AppGallery

Clients obtained from any other source are not supported and may result in an automatic suspension.

Why Is My Account Still Suspended?

If your account remains suspended after the amnesty process, our systems have detected evidence of gameplay or account manipulation beyond simply using an unauthorized client.

This includes modifications that resulted in illegitimate game data or resources being added to an account.

These suspensions will remain in place to preserve a fair competitive environment for all players. In many cases the exploitation of resources was not subtle and those who participated have essentially given themselves unlimited relics and resources.

Maintaining a fair playing field is an important step toward the future of Skullgirls Mobile. As we introduce new competitive features and new ways to play, ensuring that every player is competing under the same rules becomes more important than ever.
