Skullgirls Mobile – 7.1.1, April Backstage Pass & What’s Ahead

Hey everyone, we’ve got some important updates for you on our 7.1.1 patch and April Backstage Pass update.

To start, this month’s “Shiny with a Chance of Knockouts” Backstage Pass is shaking things up. For the first time in a while, we won’t be introducing new variants—which we know a lot of fans weren’t expecting, but don’t worry, they’ll be back for May.

Instead, for the first time ever, we’re giving Backstage Pass All Access holders who complete the track a guaranteed Shiny Surgeon General Valentine. This special event is limited to just this month so be sure to get your supercharged variant while you can. Just a reminder that not only does a Shiny take a lot less resources to power up, but you can also transfer the Shiny it to an existing Surgeon General Valentine to reap the same benefits.

Why the Change?

There’s a couple of reasons—first we’ve listened to you; we’ve received a lot of feedback that keeping up with the constant variant grind has been a challenge. At the same time, we’ve made the decision to take this opportunity to focus heavily on updating the codebase so that the game can support the changes we are rolling out, and plan to add many quality-of-life improvements we know you’ve been asking for. While this means less new content this month, it will allow us to dramatically accelerate development moving forward.

So What’s Coming This Month?

There’s plenty to look forward to:

• Key Relic Release(!!) – This new relic will help players power up their collection faster. The Key Relic is exclusive to the Backstage Pass in its debut, but we’ll offer more ways to obtain it in the coming months.
• Bug Fixes & Stability Updates – Addressing crashes and performance issues.
• New User Experience Improvements – The first of many updates to make the game clearer and more welcoming to new players and returning players alike.

Roadmap and Beyond

We’re moving full steam ahead on some major updates, including the long-awaited Guilds feature, new variants, a few more surprises, and much more. A detailed larger roadmap announcement is on the horizon (the middle of April) so stay tuned. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready to announce.

New Backstage Pass: Shiny With a Chance of Knockouts

Featuring a guaranteed Shiny - Surgeon General Valentine, with Model Leader Annie as the featured Diamond variant in the April "Blossom Relic".

We will have 3 avatars in this month’s Backstage Pass. Usually there are 4, but we made room for higher value items instead. This is the first of many tweaks to the Backstage Pass rewards track to make it more valuable.

New Relic: We have a new relic coming in the April release - the Key Relic. Inside, there is a chance to get any type of key, from bronze to diamond. Find its debut exclusively in this month’s Backstage Pass. The breakdown for the odds are as follows:

Key Relic Odds:

Bronze: 45%

Silver: 30%

Gold: 20%

Diamond: 5%

Updated High Society Spotlight Relic: The High Society Relic returns, giving you a chance at these classy characters!

Umbrella: Raining Champ (Diamond)

Beowulf: Wulfsbane (Gold)

Annie: Triple Threat (Silver)

Parasoul: Ivy League (Silver)

PREVIOUS MONTHLY FIGHTERS ADDED TO RELICS - Previous Monthly Fighters added in 6.3.1 have also been added to regular Relics pool in this update.

Grave Danger Squigly, Reimaged Robo-Fortune, Mekastar Cerebella, Palace Plunderer Umbrella, Hell’s Bell Fukua, and Furmidable Ms. Fortune are now available in all the usual places like the Cabinet of Curiosities, Premiere Relics, Character Relics, Elemental Relics, etc.

Quality of Life Features:

• Send All/Claim All Gifts in the Friend List - Ability to send and receive all gifts from friends list (should you choose to).
• Relic Opening - Now shows element and variant icon for a clearer understanding of element and rarity.
• Deployments - New Information button has been added clarifying some information about how Deployment success chance and bonuses work.
• Added the first of many updates to better address game exploits.

Shard Exchange Store Updates

• If you missed out on your favorite monthly Fighter in our Jan-March seasons, you have a new opportunity to add them to your roster! The six Fighters who debuted in those updates are headed to the Shard Exchange Store in 2025!
• Wave Warrior, Glacial Ghoul, Stellar Huntress, Don Passione, Rhythm Rider, and Shear Force will all be available in the Shard Exchange Store over the coming months! If you have enough Gold and Diamond shards saved, you can exchange them for your favorite Fighter from our previous seasons!
